What I Learned At Retreat!

Recently, we went to retreat in Camp Wrightwood, and learned many things from Pastor Woo. The first day, we learned that the best way to welcome somebody is to use Godly language. What we say and do is very important. A good way to be Godly in your language is to tell your friends about the gospel. Another way to use positive language is to be encouraging, and constantly be encouraging others. Using negative or violent talk and gossiping will only bring people down. Did you know that talking for 1 day can fill up about 2 books? That means that we should pick our words quite wisely. If we use negative talk all day, that will be a pretty sad book. But not only will it have a negative effect on you, but it will harm other people who read it. “2 Our mouths were filled with laughter and songs of joy. Then it was said among he nations, “The LORD has done great things for them”. 3 the LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” Psalms 126:2-3

On the second day, we learned that we should be imitators of God. True Christian!! We need to learn to be the authentic representation of God to our peers. Therefore, having lots of conflict/arguments among fellow Christians is very harmful to the church. In order to not have dispute among Christians is easy. Read the Bible. By reading the Bible, we gain wisdom to not fight with our neighbors. What also happens when you read the Word is that you feel genuinely changed and become an example to the world. And when you have a changed life, it will quickly change the perspective of other people’s lives. Pastor Woo also taught us that we need to turn from the temptations of Evil, serve God and his kingdom, and wait for his second coming. Turn, Serve, Wait. “Therefore

This year’s theme was Yes! I am a Christian. We learned that in order to be a good Christian, we need to use good language, and that negative language will bring everyone downwards. We also learned that we should be true imitators of God. I hope that we have all been changed through this retreat.
